Intro
Hi everyone, my name is Duncan and I would like to share my Home Assistant Journey with you.
So a few years ago, I found out about Home Assistant when googling about smart home technology. Back then I was just starting up with some smart home stuff, and I only had a smart plug, a smart thermostat and my nas. And Home Assistant just clicked for me. Since it’s open source, very well maintained and semi user friendly. I decided to give it a try.
And now a few years later I have some more smart devices in my home, like a robot vacuum, some shelly relays, smart radiator valves. And I have more stuff coming (I hope)
So my Home Assistant is running Supervised as a Virtual Machine on my Synology DS920+. That way I can scale it if I find the need. And I have the possibility to add the Home Assistant add-ons I need. Most add-ons I run as seperate docker containers since that gives me a little more flexibility and keeps my Home Assistant installation clean.
As for now I will share my dashboards and mobile dashboards with you. And if you want any of the code, go check out my GitHub page. Everything is there, from my lovelace dashboards, to the configuration of my entities.
For my journey, lets start with my current Lovelace Dashboards.
This is my Home Tab:

This is my Home Assistant Monitoring Tab:

This is my Nas Monitoring Tab:

My Network Monitoring Tab:

My Raspberry Pi Monitoring Tab:

My Energy Monitoring Tab:

My Vacuum Tab (more or less for testing purposes):

And then I have 2 tabs for Plex Movies and Plex Series:

Mobile Dashboards
Then I have my Mobile Dashboards for on Mobile Phones.

Then a Dashboard for each room in the house:

And ofcourse some other tabs:

I’m going to change my entire Mobile Dashboards layout somewhere in the near future, and I will be sure to show that in another blog here on my site.
I will also write blogs about every medium to big change, or addition I make to my Home Assistant setup. So if you dont want to miss out on my journey please subscribe to my newsletter. And if you like you can make a small donation to support my work and so I can get more stuff to integrate in to Home Assistant and show it to you!
Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed it.
